Agriculture

We use AI to enable Image Analysis and Decision Support.

At the forefront of technology we find two research projects. Freja AI monitor crops to increase the yield for Wineries and apple farmers. And Bug IT help decrease the use of pesitcides within agriculture using image analysis.

Decision Support saves harvest

Together with the Swedish Research Institute (RISE) and the Swedish Agricultural University, the Amnovia platform provides IoT applications for smart agriculture that help reduce water consumption, protect against frost damage and predict optimal harvest conditions.

Freja AI

The project app measures, for example, sunshine, temperature and irrigation and integrates these with weather forecast services.
It then uses AI to generate insights that in turn lead to action for people in the agriculture industry. The system warnings has helped vinyards save half the crop.

Nominated for EU award

Amnovia platform and the Freja AI project was one of two nominated projects by the Swedish Agriculture Ministry for the EU competition Agricultural & Rural Inspiration Awards (ARIA) 2023.

Being nominated for the ARIA 2023 (Agricultural & Rural Inspiration Awards) is a great honor for the Amnovia platform for several reasons.

AI identifies pests

Every year a large percentage of crops go to waste due to pests. To prevent pests farmers use pesticides. As part of Agenda 2030 EU wants to reduce the use of chemicals within agriculture and food production.

Bug IT

With Amnovia’s IoT solution a hardware sensor station iwith built-in AI image analysis is combined with the cloud to enable decision support. The farmers get alerts when the specific sort of insect count exceeds the set threshold number. This means pesticides are only used at the right times.

Amnovia also helps keep track of when pesticeds were used on the which fields.
